If your child has had a physical in the past year then that should be sufficient unless you are aware of recent physical ailments, are concerned about, or have noticed a change in your child's physical condition. Weigh-in dates are 8/24 & 8/31 Practice will begin during the first week of August and will be held at Roberto Clemente Middle School. All players should wear gym shorts, tee shirts, and rubber molded cleats (if they have them), and bring plenty of water. Players will not be allowed to practice if they wear jean shorts, baseball caps, sunglasses, or jewelry. A mandatory parents meeting will be held in early August. For the safety of everyone involved and to help the players maintain their focus, parents will not be allowed on the practice portion of the field. It is harder for the coaches to do their jobs if the players are watching or listening to their parents. ALL PLAYERS are required to possess a valid Maryland I.D. card in order to participate in the CBL. The cards can be obtained at the Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) Express. The league champions then advance to the Metro Area Beltway Superbowl to compete against teams fromPrince George's County, Northern Virginia, and Washington, DC. We are guided by the rules and regulations set forth by the CBL to include, but not limited to, game schedules, weight limits, and game rules. There are 7 weight classes in the CBL. They are: Anklebiters (Pee Wee), Pony World (Pony B), Pony (Pony A), Midgets, Juniors, Intermediates, and Super Juniors. The Anklebiter and Pony World teams are instructional. They play shorter quarters, have no overtime play, and are guaranteed at least 6 plays from the line of scrimmage per game. There is no play-off season, however, they may be invited to participate in tournaments after the regular season has ended. The Pony through Super Junior teams are competitive and strive to make the Couny play-offs and to compete in the Superbowl. THERE IS NO GUARANTEED PLAY TIME. However, the coaches try their best to get as many players in the game as possible. |
