They also participate in local, regional, and national level competitions. The SSA competition teams are among the most decorated recreational teams in the mid-Atlantic region. While experience is helpful it is not required for our competition teams. However, evaluations/tryouts ARE required. Evaluations for the 2003 - 2004 competition season will be held in late May or early June. Dates will be posted here when confirmed. Additional tryouts will be held as openings allow on an individual basis. For the first 3 evenings (2 hours each night), participants will learn a cheer, chant, and dance. On Saturday morning participants will demonstrate what they have learned and members of the squad will be chosen. This season we anticipate fielding 6 competition cheer squads dependant upon participant interest. Those squads are: · 6 & under · 8 & under · 10 & under · 12 & under · 14 & under · Seniors (18 & under - must be in high school). A quality competition cheerleading program is expensive to produce and operate. Indoor practice space, coaching & choreography fees, and administrative expenses, are all a part of operating a competition cheerleading program. Therefore, an initial registration fee and monthly dues are required. These expenses are outside of uniform fees, competition entry fees, and other miscellaneous expenses that you as a competition cheer parent will incur. Fundraising is an important and very necessary activity for our program. This, combined with our desire to keep our registration fee reasonable, necessitates fundraising. Every cheerleader will be required to participate in three fundraising events. Cheerleaders are responsible for the purchase of their uniforms and shoes. A limited supply of consignment uniforms will be available for sale. Uniform fitting dates for those requiring new uniforms or uniform pieces will be announced. Competition entry fees for local and regional events generally run $25 or less. These will be collected twice in the season: once in September, and once in December. Competition entry fees for nationals usually run $100 - $150 per event. These will be collected in full in early January. We typically do 10 events per season. ofertas de hoteles Noordwijk aan ZeeSome other expenses you can expect to incur are for miscellaneous items such as hair bows, spirit wear, and travel expenses. Our competition teams do a lot of work, have a lot of fun, and hopefully along the way, win a few trophies. This activity requires a high level of dedication and involvement, both on the part of the cheerleader and the parents. However, it can be very rewarding.
